Apple knows that most people want things to be ready for them or not do them fast, they just don,t want to know how to installl a RPM, DEB package or a tar.gz. A simple answer is Linux is for geeks and users who want to learn something new and Mac OS X and Windows are for people that just want to work. YES and NO it depends if you truly want to learn Linux and what kind of user you are.

Though the question about the terminal seems stupid, just remember: 90% of the persons that use a computer panic if they loose the GUI....can you move around in a computer without a mouse? It is a good thing to point out to the persons that are capable that google exists and that they can solve their own problems, but not everyone is able to....
